Irish Trash Can


Irish Trashcan

Here's what you'll need:

1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz Smirnoff® vodka
1/2 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1/2 oz triple sec
1 can Red Bull energy drink

Here's how to do it!
Fill glass full of ice, then add all liquors and stir. Add full can of Red Bull. It will float and slowly seep down the glass, turning the mix green, hence the name Irish Trash Can!

This is my Favorite of all!!!

Whats for Lunch?


STUFFED POTATOS

Here's what you'll need:

Crumbled cooked bacon
Swiss Cheese
Salt
Pepper
Green Onion (optional)
Sour Cream
Butter

Where's how to do it:

Wash potatoes; dry; rub with oil; prick skins. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour or until done.

Prepare your filling in a separate bowl.

Cut 1/4-inch slice off top of baked potatoes and scoop out pulp, leaving shells intact about 1/4 inch thick. Mash pulp and add your desired filling.

Beat well and re-stuff potatoes.

If serving potatoes right away i like to brush them with a little butter and slide them under the broiler for a minute to brown the tops

CHOCOLATE DECADENCE CAKE


CHOCOLATE DECADENCE CAKE

Here's what you'll need:

12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 cups butter, melted
1 3/4 cups white sugar
1/2 cup water
7 eggs
2 cups whipped cream

How do I make it you ask...I got ya covered.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10 inch round pan and line bottom with parchment paper.
Chop chocolate squares and place in a large bowl with chocolate chips. Add melted butter. Heat water and 1 1/2 cups sugar in a saucepan until boiling, and then pour over chocolate. Stir until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whip eggs with remaining 1/4 cup sugar until thick. Fold into chocolate mixture. Pour batter into 10 inch pan.
Place 10 inch pan on a cookie sheet in the oven and fill the cookie sheet with water.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool and refrigerate for several hours. Be extremely careful not to burn yourself on the hot water when removing the sheet pan from the oven.
Dip the pan in hot water to remove cooled cake. Garnish with whipped cream or rasberries and serve.

Whats for dinner you ask?!?!


LASAGNA

Where's what you'll need:


1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 pound ground Italian sausage
1 onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ground oregano
1 teaspoon ground basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 1/2 cups small curd cottage cheese
1 (5-ounce) package grated Parmigianno-Reggiano
2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley leaves
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
2 (8-ounce) packages shredded mozzarella


Here's how to do it!!! It's EASY!!!


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large saucepan, combine ground chuck, sausage onion and garlic. Cook over medium heat until meat is browned and crumbled; drain.

Return meat to pan and add oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and paste. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 to 45 minutes.

In a small bowl, combine cottage cheese, Parmesan, parsley, and eggs.

Spoon 1/4 of sauce into bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking pan. Place 3 uncooked lasagna noodles on top of sauce. Do not overlap noodles. Spread 1/3 of cottage cheese mixture over noodles, top with 1/4 of sauce and 1/3 mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with sauce, reserving 1/3 of mozzarella cheese.

Bake 45 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.


Now for the best part of the meal...what are we having to drink...We're keepin it simple tonight...

JAGER BOMBS


I am sure we all know what goes in it and how to make it, but here ya go incase.

Whats in it?

1/2 can Red Bull® energy drink (I like the blue can of monster my self :-)
1 - 2 oz Jagermeister® herbal liqueur

what to do?

Pour red bull into a medium sized glass. Add a shot glass (or drop in) of jagermeister, and chug.

The Daily Yumm! *Dinner and drinks* 12/01/2011

What sounds good tonight??? This is so simple and only takes 25 minutes!!!


Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Here's what you'll need:

1 1/4 pounds boneless pork loin, pounded thin
1/2 cup all-purpose flour for coating
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup chopped pecans

And now, here's how to make it!
In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt and pepper. Dredge pork cutlets in the flour mixture.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add chops, and brown both sides. Transfer to a warm plate.
Mix honey and pecans into the pan drippings. Heat through, stirring constantly. Pour sauce over cutlets.


To drink with it:




Hot Apple Cider with Rum

Ingredients

1 apple
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 orange, thinly sliced
2 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
Pinch grated nutmeg
1 cup dark rum
Cinnamon sticks, garnish

How do I make this yummy drink you ask...here you go:

In a medium pot, combine the apple and remaining ingredients except the rum. Slowly bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the rum. Discard the apple. Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

Today's Recipe, I will be cooking mine in a Crock Pot. You can do your in a Crock Pot or Pan in the oven :-)



THE BEST WHOLE CHICKEN

Here's what you'll need:

2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon thyme
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne (red) pepper
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 onion
1 large chicken

How to do this you ask...

1. Combine the dried spices in a small bowl.
2. Loosely chop the onion and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker or pan.
3. Remove any giblets from the chicken and then rub the spice mixture all over. You can even put some of the spices inside the cavity and under the skin covering the breasts.
4. Put prepared chicken on top of the onions in the slow cooker or pan, cover it (with the lid in a Crock Pot or foil in a pan), and turn it on to high (350 in the oven). There is no need to add any liquid.
Crock Pot - Cook for 4 – 5 hours (for a 3 or 4 pound chicken) or until the chicken is falling off the bone. Enjoy!
Oven - 1 and a half hours depending on the stove.

Now what tastyness are we washing this down with?




LONG ISLAND ICED TEA

Ingredients:

1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz tequila
1 oz sour mix
cola
lemon wedge for garnish

How to make it:

1. Pour the spirits and sour mix into a collins glass with ice.
2. Stir well or shake.
3. Top the glass off with cola.
4. Garnish with the lemon wedge and/or cherry.

Lunch Time!!! What are we having?!


Tomato and Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Here's what you'll need:

4 slices bacon
butter, softened
2 slices white bread
4 slices tomato
4 slices American cheese
** Bowl of Tomato Soup is optional **

Now, He's how to make it!

1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and set aside.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Spread butter onto one side of each slice of bread. Lay slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet. Top with a slice of cheese, 2 slices tomato, bacon, and another slice of cheese. Cover with a slice of bread, butter side out. Fry sandwiches until golden on both sides.

YUMMY!!!




Now to Drink:

The Real Shirley Temple (Non-Alcoholic)

What you will need:

6 oz Ginger Ale
1.5 Grenadine
Cherries (optional)

How to make it:

In a glass with plenty of ice combine both Grenadine and Ginger Ale, top with a cherry.

CHILI




the best chili recipe ever! here's how it goes:

Ingredients

1 pound ground sirloin beef
3 (8 ounce) cans Hunt's® Tomato Sauce
1 cup chili without beans
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained, rinsed
1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans, drained, rinsed
1 (6 ounce) can Hunt's Tomato Paste

Directions

Brown meat in large skillet over medium-high heat; drain.
Add tomato sauce, chili, pinto beans, kidney beans and tomato paste; stir until well blended.
Cook over medium heat 15 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Now you may be wondering what to drink with chili... I got that too!

Here's how you make it:

Pour bourbon (or any type of Whiskey) into tall glass, add ice cubes, fill with equal amounts of ginger ale and soda.

Ginger Ale
Club Soda
2.5 Oz Whiskey
